Toronto Earthquake happened earlier this day with a magnitude 5.5. It happened exactly at Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa while Canada prepares to host 2010 G8/G20 Summit and welcomes dozens of world leaders.
Although the Geological Survey of Canada considered a 5.7 magnitude of the earthquake, the Geological Service of the United States downsized it to a 5.5 magnitude. The epicenter of the seism occurred approximately 30 kilometers north of Buckingham, Quebec which is a little town situated approximately 25 kilometers north-east ofOttawa.
There were no damages and injuries reported except for some walls that shook in downtown Montreal.
In Ottawa, some tall buildings had been evacuated and the streets were filled with workers who ran out from their workstations and were banned to return to their posts for a few minutes.
Witnesses said that there were visible cracks on the walls of the Parliamentary Press Gallery and the office of the AFP in Ottawa.
The quake also occurred in some parts of Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Vermount, New Hampshire, New Jersey and New York.
