Larry King Files For His Eighth Divorce

In these days of constant tumult and distress that we’re bombarded with every day in the news, we long to hear something familiar and soothing. An hour ago, the celebrity gossip-hounds at TMZ gave us just that. Reading that Larry King has filed for divorce from Shawn Southwick, his wife of almost thirteen years (and 25 years his junior), is about as familiar as wrapping yourself in your favorite blanket and eating chicken soup your mother made.

All kidding aside, divorce is a terrible thing and King and Southwick, whom he married in 1997, do have two children together. We have to remember though, that this is King’s eighth divorce. His attorney must be so rich.

So, in summary, divorce is not funny at all and nothing to make jokes about. However, an eighth divorce is…inevitably a late-night punchline.
