Mccluster,Ole Miss Football:Mississippi senior running back-receiver Dexter McCluster has become the first player in Southeastern Conference history with 1,000 yards rushing and 500 yards receiving in the same season.
An All-SEC pick as an all-purpose player, McCluster surpassed both marks in the first quarter of the Cotton Bowl on Saturday against Oklahoma State. He entered only 15 yards shy of the rushing mark and 25 short in receiving.
A catch on the final play of the first quarter gave McCluster two receptions for 28 yards. He had already run 10 times for 41 yards.
McCluster is only the fourth Ole Miss player with a 1,000-yard rushing season.
McCluster came in with 3,694 career all-purpose yards, second in school history to Deuce McAllister, who had 4,889 from 1997-2000
